__

About us:

At Xello, our mission is simple yet powerful—to equip every student with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to build a successful, meaningful future. For over 30 years, we’ve partnered with more than 3,000 school districts and 8 million students and educators worldwide, delivering innovative, student-centered college and career readiness tools. Recognized for exceptional customer support and research-backed design, we empower learners from all backgrounds to explore possibilities, discover their strengths, and create actionable plans for life after school.

Who are you?

You are a strategic, data-savvy marketing leader with deep experience owning the end-to-end growth funnel—from lead acquisition to customer expansion and retention. As the Director of Growth Marketing, you'll define and execute full-funnel campaign strategies, partner cross-functionally with Sales, Strategic Accounts, Business Development, and Customer Success, and lead a high-performing team that brings marketing programs to life across digital, automation, and lifecycle engagement channels.

You're equally comfortable building strategy, rolling up your sleeves to lead integrated campaigns, and mentoring team members in marketing execution. You thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments where growth is measured by results, not vanity metrics. You know how to harness tools like 6sense, marketing automation, and performance analytics to orchestrate meaningful marketing experiences that convert, retain, and expand accounts in a complex B2B environment—especially in the K–12 education space.

What you’ll do:

Growth Marketing Leadership

  • Own the strategy and execution of acquisition, expansion, and retention marketing programs across the full customer lifecycle, with a deep understanding of long-term buying cycles common to K–12 districts and state-level education agencies.
  • Lead and manage a team including Digital Marketing and Marketing Automation & Engagement—ensuring coordination across web, paid, email, in-product, and ABM channels.
  • Develop and implement a strategic campaign roadmap aligned with revenue, pipeline, and retention goals.

Campaign & Program Strategy

  • Architect integrated campaign strategies (inbound, outbound, and ABM) to generate qualified leads, engage existing customers, and drive upsell/renewal.
  • Manage messaging and offer alignment across programs, channels, and audience segments.
  • Oversee the development of GTM programs for new product launches, key customer milestones, and strategic revenue moments.
  • Foster a scrappy, test-and-learn approach—piloting ideas, analyzing results, and scaling what works to continually improve performance and maximize resources.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with:
    • Business Development to align top-of-funnel programs and drive lead quality.
    • Sales and Strategic Accounts to support outbound motions and key account engagement with ABM and 6sense insights.
    • Customer Success to drive retention, product adoption, and expansion campaigns.
  • Serve as a bridge between marketing and the field—ensuring alignment on goals, messaging, and program delivery.

Account-Based Marketing Strategy Leadership

  • Lead the development of an account-based marketing strategy that uses intent data, advanced segmentation, and multi-channel orchestration to prioritize and engage high-value accounts.
  • Design and implement workflows that activate personalized, journey-based communications, enable coordinated BDR and AE outreach, and deliver measurable impact on pipeline and revenue.
  • Ensure account intelligence—leveraging platforms such as 6sense—is fully integrated into digital campaigns, lifecycle automation, and account prioritization to create cohesive, insight-driven marketing motions.

Analytics, Forecasting & Optimization

  • Define and track key performance indicators across campaigns, lifecycle stages, and funnel conversions.
  • Partner with RevOps to ensure accurate attribution, reporting, and forecasting of marketing’s impact on pipeline and revenue.
  • Guide A/B testing, funnel diagnostics, and performance reviews to continuously optimize tactics and spend.

Team Leadership & Mission Impact

  • Hire, coach, and inspire a high-performing team, championing Xello’s mission of empowering every student to become future ready.
  • Foster a culture built on Xello’s values—collaboration, creativity, accountability, and continuous learning—where experimentation and innovation thrive.
  • Lead by example in connecting daily work to meaningful outcomes for educators, districts, and students.

What we’re looking for:

  • 7+ years of experience in B2B marketing, with at least 3+ years leading growth or demand generation functions.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute marketing programs that drive measurable results across acquisition, expansion, and retention.
  • Experience managing and mentoring high-performing teams across multiple marketing functions (digital, lifecycle, automation, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of the tools that power modern marketing: 6sense (required), marketing automation (e.g., Customer.io, Pardot), CRM (e.g., Salesforce), web analytics, and paid media platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with Sales, Success, and Business Development teams to co-own pipeline and revenue outcomes.
  • Strategic thinker who can see the big picture while managing detailed execution across multiple initiatives.
  • Exceptional communication and project management skills.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in the K–12 education market or familiarity with district-level buying dynamics and stakeholders.
  • Background in product-led or customer success-aligned growth models.
  • Comfort operating in hybrid GTM models—balancing inbound, outbound, and ABM strategies.
